Eric Sutter remembers the startup days of his business fondly. Like many other VARs, Sutter, founder and CEO of EMS Barcode Solutions (EMS Barcode), had to take what he could get the first couple of years in business. He quips now that his vendor partners would send him the deals other VARs didn’t want — the sub-$100, one-off deals that had little hope of upsell or recurring revenue.
