Big Moves At RSPA

Pretty big news in the retail IT world today. I awoke to a press release stating that the RSPA has hired its new CEO and president, Ms. Kelly Funk.

While Funk is not from the retail industry, she has association experience with the Alzheimer’s Association and has held positions with Genworth and GE Financial. Additionally, she also holds a Masters degree in Leadership from Georgetown University.

"The RSPA is very pleased have Kelly on board," stated Lynn Skurla, Madam Chair of the RSPA Board of Directors. "The RSPA is dedicated to the success of resellers and vendors in the Retail Technology marketplace. Her demonstrated leadership experience and commitment to our association will continue to drive membership and certification."

On paper, this seems like a great hire. With the move of Joe Finizio (RSPA's previous CEO and president) to the new role of Executive Director of Industry Strategies and Relations for the organization, the RSPA is now better positioned to grow. Finizio can hit the road and phone to focus on building new alliances and strengthening partnerships, while Funk can apply her leadership skills to help the organization further evolve and reach new levels of success.

Congrats to Ms. Funk and thanks to Joe helping to bring the organization where it is today.
