What do you get when you mix a 26-year-old computer programming superstar, a seasoned 32-year old vice president of technical support and an 15-year old, Congers-based point of sale software company?

The dynamic duo, collectively employed by PC America for 20 years, purchased the company on June 30, 2004 from 15-year owners and partners Howard Gosman and Steve Kahan. Gosman and Rotbard now control the company through a 50-50-partnership agreement.

PC America has developed and written Cash Register Express, a point of sale program for use in retail stores, and Restaurant Pro Express, a restaurant point of sale software package. The programs, along with the associated checkout hardware, are currently being used by thousands of stores and restaurants in every state and dozens of countries around the world. Restaurant Pro Express was recently named the number one restaurant point of sale system.

Gosman, formerly PC America's senior project manager in charge of software development, will now assume the title of Chief Executive Officer, charged with sales team leadership, marketing and business development, while Rotbard, formerly the formerly the vice-president of technical support will serve as president. As such he will oversee customer service and grow the business through Internet marketing and promotions.

PC America has been picking up momentum in recent years, attracting large clients such as Goodwill Industries of the Columbia-Willamette in Oregon, and upscale car wash chain Splash, based in Stamford, Connecticut.

A variety of restaurants in the New York Metro area, including celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman's Barbuto, located in Manhattan's Meatpacking District; Spasso, located in Bedford Hills, and Natives, the largest Columbian restaurant in New York City, also work with PC America's Restaurant Pro Express for their point of sale needs.

The software is quickly gaining on its major competitors. Gosman, who wrote the program and is constantly improving it, said the users themselves recommend the majority of the changes made to the program, making this package the most cost-effective solutions available to business owners.

According to David, "Thanks to suggestions from our customers, we've developed the fastest and most effective point of sale system on the market. We will follow the same path of growth and will continue to provide the highest level of support and dedication to our clients."
