VARs can find a number of benefits in taking the “vertical approach” when selling point of sale (POS) solutions, according to Dan Dufault, VP of sales and marketing for UP Solution.

“When domain expertise is reflected in products and services, it has value to the merchant,” he says, adding VARs who provide these solutions will be the most competitive and appealing to merchants who not only are seeking POS systems but also trusted advisors. Dufault comments, “If you speak my language, that’s important to me.”
