Where Are Opportunities To Sell Payments Outside Of Retail And Hospitality?

Chester Ritchie, SVP at Worldpay, and Donte Kim, president of Nodus Technologies, discussed opportunities for managed services providers (MSPs) in payment processing beyond the retail and hospitality verticals. Ritchie and Kim spoke with Business Solutions editor in chief Mike Monocello at Channel Transitions VAR/MSP Executive Conference on Sept. 24 at the DoubleTree Chicago-Downers Grove.

Ritchie, using healthcare as an example, explained how offering payments can help provide a complete solution to your clients. He pointed out, “Offering a complete solution ensures that customer isn’t going to go somewhere else.”

Kim commented that for VARs or MSPs that have never offered payment processing before, it’s easier now to get involved than 15 years ago — with fewer objections to fees and simpler onboarding processes.

Although some attendees at the conference said their businesses are in areas that are still “cash only,” Kim pointed out things are changing. On his recent trip to Asia, he said many transactions are completed via virtual wallet. “[Electronic payments] are not going to be an option,” he said.
