If you're selling point of sale to the hospitality vertical, hopefully you're not one of those VARs that feels that restaurant chains are outside your grasp. While the ownership structure might differ from your local mom-and-pops, ultimately, a restaurant is just a restaurant, and chains could be a huge opportunity you may be overlooking. According to Todd Baker Sr., founder of 24x7 Hospitality Technology, LLC (24x7HT), the tools needed for success with restaurant chains are no different from those
needed to have success with any other restaurant. While Baker will quip "nothing we do is unique, until you put it together as a whole," the reality is that 24x7 Hospitality Technology is doing a few things many POS (point of sale) VARs are not. While the VAR has had the majority of its success targeting restaurant chains, its strategies can be applied to help you target any hospitality customer.
