Converged infrastructures, the pre-integrated hardware and software bundle designed to reduce the cost and complexity of deploying and maintaining a virtualized solution, are becoming an increasingly popular option for mission-critical facilities across the country. Most converged infrastructure packages include four elements: servers, storage, networking, and software. However, a distributed power protection scheme is not always included in converged infrastructure solution offerings.
Why? Many facility managers believe that converged infrastructures are so inherently resilient that they can be safely and reliably operated without the help of power protection technologies. In reality, however, converged infrastructures solutions need reliable power protection just as much as traditional environments to protect data and avoid costly downtime.
