Wavelink Announces The First And Only Terminal Emulation Solution For Motorola ET1 And Other Android Devices
Industry's leading wireless terminal emulation adds support for Android-based devices including new rugged enterprise tablet from Motorola
NRF Annual Convention & Expo, Booth #1768 - Wavelink Corporation recently announced its market-leading Wavelink Terminal Emulation (TE) will be the industry's first and only to run on Android-based devices, including the highly anticipated Motorola ET1 rugged enterprise tablet. This provides customers with additional options in mobile devices that can be used to connect to host systems in the warehouse and in the field.
Wavelink TE is the industry's most widely deployed software for extending mission-critical, host-based applications to mobile workers. It is in use on more than 4 million devices worldwide and is used by most of the world's largest retailers. Wavelink TE provides the unique ability to accept data from multiple input sources such as scanning, voice, RFID and keyboard or touchscreen entry.
"Many organizations are rapidly adopting new smart devices in their warehouse and field operations, in addition to the traditional ruggedized mobile devices," said Jay Cichosz, vice president of marketing at Wavelink. "Now we see the emergence of rugged smartphones and tablets running Android that are developed specifically for heavy industrial use. With added support for Android, we are ensuring our customers have the flexibility to choose the devices and applications best suited to them with the assurance that they will still be able to fully utilize Wavelink's mobile enterprise solutions."
The Motorola ET1 tablet is an enterprise-class device that is designed for demanding day-long use with enhanced durability, an optional barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader, and password-protected support for multiple users. With Android support from both Wavelink TE and Wavelink Avalanche, Motorola ET1 users can utilize Wavelink solutions for terminal emulation and mobile device management.
Wavelink TE gives mobile users reliable access to host-based applications, while Wavelink Velocity (also announced today) provides the same fast and stable access to web-based applications. With Wavelink, organizations can be assured their mobile employees can access their mission-critical applications no matter how they are delivered and across multiple mobile device platforms.
Wavelink will be demonstrating Wavelink Terminal Emulation for Android and Avalanche mobile device management on the Motorola ET1 at the National Retail Federation Convention and Expo in Booth #1768 this week. Wavelink TE for Android will be available Q1 2012 through Wavelink and its partners. For more information about Wavelink Terminal Emulation, please visit http://www.wavelink.com/p/terminal-emulation.
