Tech Data Corporation recently continued expanding its high-end data center solutions offerings by announcing its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division (AIS) will be the channel's first source for virtual tape libraries from SEPATON, Inc. VARs will now be able to present their customers who are using tape storage with more efficient and cost-effective SEPATON virtual tape solutions.

"Companies of all sizes are reevaluating how their data centers address the rising demand for storing, managing and retrieving information," said AIS Senior Vice President and General Manager, Pete Peterson. "Businesses are evolving their storage strategies. Instead of addressing individual applications' increased demand by simply buying and adding more capacity, users are turning to the latest consolidation and virtual storage solutions to more easily and cost-effectively address a variety of storage requirements. SEPATON virtual tape libraries enable AIS customers to deploy a data backup solution that emulates existing tape technology but provides users with the added speed, functionality and agility of disk-based storage."

Data centers utilizing virtual tape libraries can improve data storage operations. Through AIS, Tech Data will distribute SEPATON's S2100-DS2 series of virtual tape libraries, ideally suited for small-to-midsize-business (SMB) and small-enterprise application. The S2100-DS2 series stores information faster than traditional tape devices and also significantly cuts data restoration and retrieval times during business continuity and disaster recovery situations. In addition, SEPATON delivers an array of software applications for enhanced data protection, compression and replication, as well as identifying and prioritizing content and files for quicker access.

"SEPATON is committed to building a leading channel strategy," said SEPATON President and CEO Mike Worhach. "Our relationship with Tech Data will enable us to reach VARs that recommend and deliver storage solutions to SMBs nationwide every day. By closely working with Tech Data's AIS division, we will ensure that SEPATON resellers have access to the channel programs and support they need to profitably deliver the latest virtual tape solutions."

Partner Enablement
Tech Data and SEPATON announced their distribution agreement during the TechSelect Partner Conference in Salt Lake City late last week. At the conference, AIS held its inaugural Infrastructure Management Solutions partner enablement event that attracted business partners and VARs nationwide to discuss the latest trends impacting the server and storage markets. During the event, VARs interacted with AIS specialists, manufacturers, software publishers and other industry experts to share best practices and strategies for selling, financing and supporting data center infrastructure solutions.

Through AIS, Tech Data will provide SEPATON resellers with expert sales and technical support. To learn more, call (800) 237-8931, ext. 77121, or visit www.techdata.com.
