In this installment of BSMtv, Jason Cowan, president of Spark Solutions Group, tells Jim Roddy, president of Business Solutions, one of the benefits of the Retail IT VAR Of The Future Conference, May 12 to 13 at Bally’s, Las Vegas was attending with a diverse group of VARs and ISVs. He said this provided insights into how other solutions providers overcome challenges.

Cowan shared advice on providing mobile point of sale (mPOS) to hospitality clients, explaining the benefits to VARs of helping their clients reduce the technology footprint in their restaurants and moving data to the cloud. He comments that a few years ago, the idea of providing solutions as-a-Service met with resistance, but now, with iPad point of sale and cloud-based solutions, as well as, perhaps, time for the industry to get used to the idea, “It seems to make more sense.”
