More than ever, it's important to begin thinking about how technologies such as Google Wallet will alter the shopping experience for consumers and retailers. With smartphones increasingly gaining in popularity and near field communication (NFC) being deployed in mobile devices, the time is ripe to explore mobile payments and how it can help your customers create unique and memorable shopping environments.

NFC is a wireless technology that enables data transmission between two objects when they are brought within a few inches of each other. Smartphones enabled with NFC technology can exchange data with other NFC-enabled devices or read information from smart tags embedded in posters, stickers, and other products.
