The Benefits And Challenges Of Cloud And Mobile

By Adam Simpson, CEO and co-founder, Easy Office Phone

Challenges

  • Access And Speed. Cloud technologies enable and drive staff to work from smartphones.  This can be a great benefit in terms of mobility, cost savings, and environmental impact, but it does have some important implications. Users should also note that data usage can increase noticeably as mobile devices integrate with cloud services.
  • Lack Of Storage. Portable computers such as notebooks tend to offer decent storage space, but this is not usually the case with smartphones. Most modern smartphones encourage significant reliance on the cloud, shipping natively with apps such as Dropbox.  This is to offset the limitations of the device, such as physical storage space.
