The Amazing Race To Help Others

Webinar: Cloud 101

By Gennifer Biggs, security, storage, and managed services editor

The Ingram Micro VTN Invitational kicked off late Sunday evening, April 10, in Chicago with a reminder about how lucky most of the attendees are. The opening session was a fun mix of cocktails, deep dish, Chicago-style pizza, and a "race" to build goods for donations to several charities. Participants built everything from rocking chairs for parents sitting up with hospitalized children to mechanical hands to be shipped overseas where an alarming number of people lose their hands each day. The groups worked together as a team to work their way from one station to another, following an "Amazing Race" course with clues weaned from a smart phone app. It is traditional for the VTN groups to not only participate in a charity event at the two VTN invitational events hosted by Ingram Micro each year, but to also tackle charity projects in their regional groups.
