Supplement Your Workforce To Win Big Mobile Installations
Case Study: CTS
This integrator is able to tackle large, geographically dispersed mobile installations by using a database of technical talent.
Core Technology Solutions (CTS) specializes in managing geographically dispersed, complex IT equipment deployment projects for large enterprise end users. The company has successfully completed hundreds of projects encompassing thousands of individual locations throughout the United States and Canada. "Our main area of focus is large-scale rollouts of technology products for end users with branch offices or multiple locations," explains Gary Dedoussis, CEO of CTS. "The vertical niches we target are retail, hospitality, financial services, and insurance. The technologies we handle include networking, Internet Protocol telephony, desktop/server installations, digital imaging, point of sale [POS], wireless networking, video display and signage, and security and surveillance, among others."
CTS' recent projects include technology upgrades for The Home Depot, Modell's Sporting Goods, Barnes and Noble, Costco, Toys "R" Us, Lowe's, and others. "For one of the big box retailers, we were engaged to upgrade the CPUs at the POS stations in 800 locations throughout the chain," says Dedoussis. "Over a period of two months, we visited every store in the chain and upgraded more than 8,000 POS stations. Simultaneously, we were engaged at another retailer with 600 stores to replace and upgrade PCs and POS stations, in addition to executing an upgrade to the in-store server, involving more than 6,000 units. For mobile wireless projects, we partner with Motorola's [formerly Symbol Technologies] largest resellers to deploy access points, access ports, and handheld terminals to their specialty retail accounts." In an average year, CTS completes more than 100 installation projects for retail chains with anywhere from 200 to 1,000 or more stores.
