Stratus VAR Agreement With SEAL Consulting To Target SAP xMII Manufacturing Software Deployments
Stratus Technologies, Inc. announced recently that it has expanded deployment options for SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP xMII) manufacturing software on Stratus ftServer fault-tolerant systems by signing a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with SEAL Consulting of Edison, New Jersey. SEAL recently received SAP xAPP certification for its Plant Operation Data Store (PODS) appliance, a plug-and-play solution designed to eliminate downtime for critical ERP transactions in remote facilities. Stratus is an SAP Global Technology Partner.
The pre-packaged appliance consists of SEAL's PODS software, SAP xMII software, and a Stratus ftServer system. Sitting between the IT systems at the plant and the enterprise, PODS provides store-and-forward functionality and a "guaranteed transmission" mechanism interfacing with xMII in the plant. The ftServer system delivers platform uptime reliability in excess of 99.999 percent, error detection and isolation, protection from transient errors and data loss, and zero failover time to ensure production operations are not interrupted in the event of a system malfunction.
