STORServer Adds Advanced Encryption Standard 256-Bit Encryption To Archive Backup Client And STORServer Data Protection Software

Confidentiality-conscious OpenVMS customers can now be sure all data is encrypted when it leaves primary storage, helping them to comply with government requirements

STORServer, the leading provider of proven data backup solutions for the mid-market, announces recently the addition of Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit encryption to its Archive Backup Client (ABC) and STORServer Data Protection (SDP) software, agents written specifically for OpenVMS customers backing up to IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM).

AES 256-bit encryption – an encryption algorithm providing maximum security for sensitive digitized content – adds further protection to confidential data backed up by ABC and SDP.

High-level encryption satisfies intensive security conscious customers, such as those in the healthcare and financial industries. As the healthcare industry has largely digitized its workflow and moved to electronic patient records, risk of malware and security threats have increased drastically.
