Sterling Payment Technologies Names Michael Ruscin As Chief Financial Officer

Sterling Payment Technologies, a national leader in payment processing and provider of payment solutions to merchants of all types and sizes, recently announced that Michael Ruscin, a 25-year veteran of the payments industry, has joined the company as its Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Ruscin has a wide range of experience in the payments industry, where he has specialized in financial reporting and analysis, risk management, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions. He has been involved in all aspects of the payments industry: card issuing and acquiring, check authorization and guarantee, electronic check conversion, ATMs and gift cards.

Mr. Ruscin spent 18 years with FIS Global, the world’s largest provider of banking and payments technologies. In his most recent position, Mr. Ruscin served as senior vice president and Chief Financial Officer of FIS Retail Payment Solutions, where he was responsible for all financial activities of the check services, merchant processing and gift card lines of business.

Prior to joining FIS, Mr. Ruscin held the position of senior vice president and Group Controller at Certegy, Inc., where he was responsible for all financial activities of the check services, merchant processing and cash access lines of business, globally. Ruscin was instrumental in driving revenue growth and margin expansion via several strategic acquisitions in the US and Europe, as well as improving cash flow and strengthening the balance sheet via divestiture of several underperforming/non-strategic businesses in North America and Australia.

Mr. Ruscin received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from William Paterson University in New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
