SOPERA GmbH To Be Hyperic Certified Distributor In Germany

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Open source web infrastructure management provider Hyperic Inc. today announced that SOPERA GmbH, a leader in open source software headquartered in Bonn, Germany, will become a Hyperic Certified distributor in the country, with reseller rights that extend to German-speaking portions of Austria and Switzerland. SOPERA GmbH has established HQ Service GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SOPERA GmbH, in order to sell Hyperic HQ Enterprise throughout the region.

Spun out from Deutsche Post, the largest logistics company in the world, SOPERA GmbH is privately held. The SOPERA management team includes experienced executives from leading software firms such as BEA Systems and Iona, with impressive track records of success developing and selling both proprietary and open source software. SOPERA customers include Deutsche Post, Deutsche Bahn, Greenpeace, and EADS, the parent company of Airbus.

"We have seen tremendous demand for open source management solutions across the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) region. Many companies have outgrown their custom, script-based management solutions, but are not satisfied with or willing to invest in expensive, proprietary legacy management frameworks," said Harald Weimer, CEO, SOPERA GmbH. "Hyperic has established itself as the leading commercial open source management provider worldwide, and as a Hyperic Certified reseller partner, we are excited to offer HQ Enterprise to the German-speaking marketplace."

SOPERA's HQ Service GmbH officially launched its reseller activities today, with the simultaneous translation of Hyperic's website and collateral into German. The new site can be viewed at www.hq-service.com. In the coming weeks, additional promotional, lead generation, and go-to-market activities will also begin across the region.

"Hyperic's proven, extensible management technology combined with its open source distribution model has generated tremendous global demand," said Jeff Santelices, vice president of business development at Hyperic. "Resellers will play a significant role in addressing this heightened demand, both domestic and international. We are excited to add SOPERA GmbH to our growing ecosystem of strategic reseller partners and are confident they will be a tremendous contributor to Hyperic's success in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland."
