Case Study: Optimizing AP Processes Results In Improved Patient Care At Concentra Healthcare

Concentra is a leading health care company focused on improving America's health, one patient at a time. Through its affiliated clinicians, the company provides occupational medicine, urgent care, physical therapy, and wellness services to workers and the general public from 308 medical centers in 40 states. In addition to these medical center locations, Concentra serves employers by providing a broad range of health advisory services and operating 258 on-site medical facilities. Through this complement of services, Concentra intends to raise the standard of health by putting individuals first, treating them with clinical excellence, and focusing on their ongoing wellness.

With such a large and widespread organization, Concentra found that over time its accounts payable (AP) process faced numerous challenges. First, invoices were sent to individual centers and field locations, where they had to be approved and then forwarded to a central location for entry into the AP system for payment. As a result of this paper-based process, the organization often had to deal with lost documents and delays in paying vendors.
