SEPATON Appoints Jay Kramer as VP of Worldwide Marketing

SEPATON, which offers enterprise-class disk-based data protection solutions, has announced the appointment of Jay Kramer to the company’s executive management team as vice president of worldwide marketing. In this capacity, Kramer will oversee all aspects of SEPATON’s marketing efforts including strategic planning, brand development, product marketing, promotions, marketing communications, and public relations. Kramer will report directly to SEPATON President and CEO, Mike Worhach.

Kramer has more than 20 years of worldwide marketing and sales executive management experience with leading storage technology companies, both private and public organizations. During this time he has served as a network storage industry evangelist educating the marketplace and successfully growing product companies in new areas of innovation.

Most recently, Kramer served as vice president of marketing for iStor Networks, a 10Gig iSCSI storage area networking company. Prior to joining iStor Networks, he served as a marketing consultant to leading network storage product companies. Kramer’s background includes the emergence of Infinity I/O Inc. as a leading provider of education, training, and certification for network storage technology. He was also vice president of marketing for Creative Design Solutions, Inc., an OEM provider of Network Attached Storage (NAS) technology; vice president of marketing for Maxtor/Seagate Corporation which acquired CDS; and held a number of executive management positions with Unisys Corporation.

Kramer has also served the technology industry in a number of leadership positions over the last decade. He was previously elected to the Board of Directors of the Fibre Channel Industry Association for seven years running and served as the first CFO for the organization. Additionally, he served as the chairperson of the marketing committee for the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) as well as chief architect credited with developing SNIA’s SAN Certification Program. He was chairman of many leading network storage conferences including the ILM Summit, the Data Protection Summit and currently serves on the advisory board of the Flash Memory Summit. Kramer has been a featured speaker at Storage Networking World’s US and European conferences. He holds dual degrees in marketing and finance from The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
