ScanSource's Conference To Showcase Greenville To Hundreds Of Companies

GREENVILLE, S.C. – ScanSource Inc., the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, announced today that it will host a conference in September entitled Next is Now, which will bring hundreds of the company’s leading customers and suppliers to Greenville from around the nation.

At the conference, ScanSource’s North America business units will assemble together with nearly 1,000 technology solution providers, leading technology manufacturers and employees from the U.S., Europe and Latin America for three days of business-building, networking opportunities and exciting entertainment. This conference marks the first time that ScanSource’s North America businesses units will have come together in one location for such an event.

The Next is Now conference (www.scansourceinc.com/nextisnow), which coincides with ScanSource’s 20th anniversary, will take place September 10-12 at hotels and venues in downtown Greenville, as well as at the TD Convention Center.  The conference will provide a forum for ScanSource to celebrate 20 years of growth -- from a startup company in 1992, to a global distribution company with over 1,600 employees worldwide. It will also allow ScanSource to showcase Upstate South Carolina as a business and tourism destination.

“At its core, Next is Now will be a business conference where we focus on the continued success of our key customers and suppliers.  And yes, it will be a celebration. It will celebrate ScanSource’s rich 20-year history. It will celebrate Greenville and all that our award-winning city has to offer. And, as you can tell by the name itself, it will celebrate what the future has to offer for ScanSource and our customers and suppliers,” said Mike Baur, CEO, ScanSource, Inc.

Next is Now will feature discussions and demonstrations of the latest trends and products in communications, security, barcoding and point-of-sale technology. Keynote speakers will include John Jacobs, co-founder of Life is good®, and Joseph Jaffe, who founded Evol8tion, LLC. Jacobs turned a single, optimistic message into an $80-million-a-year business, while Jaffe is a well-known social media thought leader and the author of Flip the Funnel, a book about turning the business marketing model upside down. These innovative thinkers will offer insight into how businesses approach customer retention and incorporate optimism into their corporate culture, giving attendees new ideas beyond the latest products and technology.

In addition, Mike Baur will provide an update on the Company’s plans to continue adding value to the channel, and Greg Dixon, ScanSource’s Chief Technology Officer, will discuss the future of mobility and the new opportunities it is creating for the channel.

Conference attendees will be able to immerse themselves in what the Upstate has to offer, from golf and clay target shooting to performance driving and delicious farm-to-table cuisine. Attendees will also be treated to dinner from Larkin’s and a concert at The Peace Center for Performing Arts. The conference wraps up with a block party on Court Street in downtown Greenville, featuring food from Table 301 restaurants.
