RSPA Elects New Board At RetailNOW 2015

RSPA elects new board

The Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) held elections for its new board of directors during its annual membership meeting on Aug. 3 at RetailNOW 2015 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

The 2015 incoming chairman is Tom Reichart of Mercury. Reichart has more than 37 years’ experience in the POS industry and has been affiliated with RSPA for 15 years. He has worked with VARs around the world as VP of channel sales for NCR and joined Mercury in 2006 where he is VP of business development.

Brad Holaway, president and CEO of Copperstate Restaurant Technologies was reelected to serve as RSPA secretary/treasurer. Holaway was the founding chairperson of RSPA’s PCI committee, has been an active member of the RSPA for more than 25 years, serving on many RSPA committees.

Bob Bauer, Paul Leduc, and BJ Maynard will fill the three reseller positions that were open on the board.

Incumbent board member Bauer was reelected to serve a new term. He is president and CEO of BMC POS, a reseller with clients nationwide. He has served as RSPA president and secretary-treasurer, as well as on other boards and committees including the IBM POS Service Advisory Board, NCR Partner Council, Squirrel Business Partner Advisory Group, and Storenext Business Council. Bauer and his team have provided presentations at industry and retailer conferences, including RetailNOW.

Leduc, also an incumbent board member who was reelected, is president of Globe POS, a Logivision reseller in Toronto. Leduc has been active with RSPA for eight years and serves as the co-chair of the RSPA Canadian Committee.

Maynard is founder and president of Merchant Data Solutions, a hospitality POS reseller. Maynard is a past RSPA board member and his involvement with the RSPA has been dedicated to scholarships, growing membership, and education.

Other candidates for the reseller positions on the board were incumbent Alejandro Swaby, owner/operator of Metrotouch Solutions, and Michael Tash co-founder, co-owner, and VP of customer relations for Essential Systems Solutions.

Henry Helgeson, CEO and founder of Cayan, was elected to the open vendor seat on the board. Helgeson led the launch of the company’s Genius payment technology and continues to drive expansion of the platform as well as new product offerings and value-adds. He is involved in several industry associations and is an active member of the Electronic Transactions Association’s (ETA’s) Mobile Payments Committee, recently named as ETA Member of the Year. He has also presented at conferences including ETA, Money2020, SXSW, and PYMTS.com, as well as RetailNOW.

Other candidates for the open vendor position on the board were Kevin Kogler, president and founder of Microbiz, and Chuck Prince, VP of operations for NCC.
