Rivet Logic And Alfresco Selected By New Gravity Ventures To Develop Large Scale Social Networking Application Using The Facebook Platform

Rivet Logic Corporation, a leading provider of consulting and system integration services focused on open source content management solutions, has been selected by New Gravity Ventures to develop ConnectedWeddings.com, a large-scale application targeting domestic and international consumer markets using the Alfresco content management system and the Facebook Platform.

For the project, New Gravity Ventures announced the Connected Weddings application built on the Facebook Platform has been awarded a grant through Facebook's fbFund. The announcement was made today at f8, Facebook's annual developers' conference.

ConnectedWeddings.com offers a new and easier way to plan weddings, allowing couples worldwide to use Facebook, an iPhone, or the web to manage planning tasks and create a customized, professional looking wedding webpage - all for free.

According to Mike Vertal, CEO of Rivet Logic: "We are thrilled to be selected for such an exciting project. We are leveraging our award-winning expertise in building scalable and reliable enterprise solutions using Alfresco and other open source software, and enabling the next generation of social networking applications that will drive business."

New Gravity Ventures develops consumer applications for the US and Indian markets. Dan Kerzner, CEO of New Gravity Ventures said "We are building a unique, socially-aware application so we needed a trusted development partner who had a proven track record of building rock-solid solutions. And because of our emphasis on building content-rich applications, we chose Alfresco as our content management platform."

Alfresco Software was named as one of Linux Magazine's Top 20 Companies to Watch in 2008 earlier this year, being recognized for its enterprise social computing platform, which includes integration with Facebook.

John Newton, Chairman and CTO of Alfresco Software commented: "We are very excited about the use of Alfresco in the ConnectedWeddings.com project. It demonstrates the increasing significance of content services in the Web 2.0 environment and how content is connected to people in the context of social networking."

A pre-release version of the application is being demonstrated today at Facebook's annual developers' conference, and the beta version will be available to users who join the Connected Weddings Facebook group through ConnectedWeddings.com.
