Quorum Names Edward Sharp As New CEO

Former NetApp Vice President of Emerging Products Steps In as Company Continues to Drive Change in Disaster Recovery

Quorum, the leader in instant application recovery, recently announced the appointment of a new CEO. Edward Sharp, former vice president of emerging products at NetApp, will take the reins from interim CEO Walter Angerer effective immediately, continuing to drive the company momentum that characterized Angerer's tenure.

Before joining Quorum, Sharp spent 15 years at NetApp in various positions before his final role there as vice president of emerging products. In this capacity, he led emerging businesses at NetApp in the areas of mobile, data protection, flash and object storage. Sharp's previous roles at NetApp include vice president of product strategy and operations, vice president of data protection, and senior director of pricing and strategic planning. Prior to NetApp, Sharp spent several years as a consultant at McKinsey & Co. and served as general manager for the National Water Commission. Sharp holds a patent entitled "Method and system for providing a usage guarantee in the operation of a storage server in a network storage system."

"There is no better person to lead Quorum at this time of significant growth," said Angerer. "Edward is a proven leader with engineering skills, strategic vision and an ability to rally an already enthusiastic team. His experience and business acumen is precisely what Quorum needs as it enters the next chapter of expanded innovation."

Sharp's appointment comes on the heels of an impressive 2013 and promising start to 2014. The company closed out 2013 with record growth, reflecting an increase in demand  for the company's innovative DRaaS technology. November's $10 million Series C funding round helped is helping the company meet this demand with additional headcount in sales and engineering.

"The disaster recovery market is ripe for change, and Quorum is uniquely qualified to lead the charge with its innovations in DRaaS," said Sharp. "It's clearly an exciting time at Quorum, and I look forward to building on Walter's solid foundation in the years to come."
