Quantum Wins Multiple Awards For Its Dedication And Leadership In The Channel

Quantum Corp. (NYSE:DSS), a global leader in storage, today announced it has been recognized as the highest-rated, pure-play storage vendor in Computer Reseller News' Channel Champions survey and as one of North America's top information- technology (IT) vendors by VARBusiness magazine. This is the third consecutive year that Quantum has received top honors from the two publications, both of which are operated by CMP Media.

In CRN's 2006 Channel Champions survey, the largest and broadest-based technology-integrator market study in the industry, Quantum was the only Storage Backup Subsystems vendor to increase its total score over the prior year. This increase reflected Quantum's continued enhancements to its partner programs, which were also reinforced by the company's improved scores in 11 of the 15 categories and its top scores in the areas of price/performance, automated retrieval, consistency of programs over time, and reducing/eliminating channel conflict. Overall, Quantum placed just narrowly behind systems suppliers HP and IBM.

In VARBusiness' 12th annual Partner Programs Guide survey, Quantum received the highest possible score -- a five-star rating -- which acknowledges a company's continuing commitment to develop its relationships with systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and direct marketers.

"We applaud Quantum for demonstrating best practices and for the leadership role it has achieved in the channel," said Lawrence Walsh, editor of VARBusiness. "Quantum joins the ranks of only 70 other IT vendors who received this five-star rating from the more than 250 vendors that applied."

Quantum's award-winning channel program, Quantum Alliance, is a comprehensive access point for sales leads, online training, technology and marketing information, product configuration tools, technical support and sales discounts and incentives. In addition, the program provides consolidated product information through webinars, deal-registration protection and product-demonstration units. Quantum's single interface for channel partners provides the foundation that makes Quantum one of the easiest suppliers with which resellers can do business. Quantum Alliance also provides more opportunities for partners to increase market penetration and revenue by offering Quantum's full breadth of branded tape drives, removable drives, media, tape automation and disk-based backup solutions for data backup, recovery and archive.

In addition to the two awards mentioned above, Bill Cox, the company's vice president of sales, Americas, was recently named one of the 2006 "Top 100 Channel Executives" by VARBusiness. The "Top 100 Channel Executives" list is based on a survey of channel executives with respect to years of service, size of their channel programs and their partner priorities for the coming year.

"Quantum has always viewed its channel partners as one of its most valuable assets," said Cox. "We are honored that CRN and VARBusiness have again recognized the value and strength of our channel program, and we look forward to further enhancing our product portfolio and support services that help make our systems integrators, VARs and direct marketers successful."

Over the past year, Quantum has introduced 11 new products, including the DLT-S4 tape drive with security and compliance features and the lowest cost per gigabyte of any storage available today, as well as the PX500 Series midrange tape library platform, designed to provide unique flexibility and scalability choices for superior investment protection. The company has also expanded its disk-based backup offerings with three new appliances (DX3000, DX5000 and DPM 5500) that give customers additional options for meeting their data protection needs.
