PrehKeyTec Unveils Keyboards For Airline Industry

PrehKeyTec was at NRF 2010 in NYC showing its assortment of POS keyboards. Included at the manufacturer's booth were two keyboards designed for the airline industry.

The first unit shown in the below video is a gate check reader, which was a design requested by one of Preh's customers. The keypad (which contains 0-9 and the letters cooresponding to airplan seats) can be used to reassign seats at the point of gate check-in. Additionally, the bar code scanner on the unit can rotate to face the gate agent or customers.

Preh also was showcasing an MCI 111 keyboard that supports both mag-stripe and bar code scanning for passports. The unit is a normal alphanumeric qwerty keyboard with mag-stripe reader and rotatable bar code scanner.
