POS VARs: Haven't Heard Of MEV/SRM? BlueStar Can Help.

Jacque Lapierre, president of BlueStar Canada, took a few minutes after the value-added distributor's recent VARTECH event held in Montreal, Quebec, to provide an overview of one of the most important messages shared at the event.

As Lapierre mentions in the below video, an upcoming fiscal initiative in Quebec, the MEV (module d'enregistrement des ventes)/SRM (sales recording module) will require every restaurant to have a piece of equipment attached to the POS that records all transactions for tax purposes. The effects of this mandate (requirements for hardware and software upgrades) are staggering and create a huge opportunity for VARs in that province. Additionally, it's rumored that this initiative is being looked at by other provinces and even some states in the U.S.
