Datacap, Sterling, Vantiv Announce Certified U.S. EMV Solutions

Datacap Systems has completed U.S. EMV Level 3 Certification with Sterling Payment Technologies and Vantiv, and has released an EMV-capable version of NETePay that is available for download today. NETePay provides PC-based POS providers with the ability to deliver U.S. EMV functionality via an evolving list of PIN Pads and out-of-scope interfaces.

The release of NETePay is initially certified to utilize the VX 805 PIN Pad from Verifone that supports EMV, MSR, PIN, and NFC contactless transactions. Additional hardware options supporting Point-to-Point encryption and tokenization will be available as Datacap completes queued device certifications.

Sterling NETePay is available via the Sterling/Datacap Usage Program, allowing dealers to provide NETePay via a “Solution-as-a-Service” model, therefore creating a recurring revenue stream without up-front investment or risk for the installer.

TSYS Certifies TranSend RevChip EMV Software

Restaurants in the United States face particular challenges with the country’s move to the EMV security standard. Most EMV POS software applications available in the market do not accommodate customary tip-adjustment functionality, which adds gratuities to transaction amounts after payments are authorized. Standard procedure in the rest of the EMV-accepting world is to complete restaurant payment transactions tableside in one step using a final payment amount. To address this need, TSYS has announced a certification with TranSend.

Compatible with Ingenico and Verifone POS terminal hardware, TranSend RevChip eliminates EMV security certifications for VARs, ISVs, and their respective merchant customers by removing their systems from the flow of sensitive card data. Additionally, RevChip offers EMV restaurant features, including tip adjustment, bar tab capabilities, partial payment with low-balance gift cards, and a no-signature option for quick-service environments.

Heartland Addresses EMV For LiquorPOS Merchants

Heartland Payment Systems recently announced that its POS software solution, featuring out-of-scope capacity, data security protection, and a breach warranty, is now available to LiquorPOS beverage retailers.

The Heartland Secure out-of-scope solution addresses LiquorPOS EMV acceptance by taking the POS system completely out of the payment authorization process, which means no cardholder data is ever sent to the POS system.

Heartland also upgraded its LiquorPOS software to allow several new feature enhancements including an updated, preloaded database of more than 35,000 items. Additional features include the ability to import and export data using Microsoft Excel, email purchase orders to vendors, and allow for enhanced report, label, and receipt customization.

Seagull Scientific Launches BarTender 2016

Seagull Scientific announced the availability of BarTender 2016, the latest version of its software for creating and automating labels, bar codes, RFID, cards, and more. BarTender 2016 introduces a new BarTender integration builder, enabling users to integrate BarTender’s printing capabilities with virtually any enterprise business operation. Additionally, BarTender 2016 brings improvements to the creation and use of data entry forms. Now companies can include data entry prompts, query prompts, and record selectors on the same form, allowing a user to enter information, query the database, and filter database records from the same location. The new version also expands support for RFID encoding, including added support for EPC URI syntax and the ability to specify RFID security settings per document. Finally, in addition to the 32-bit version, a 64-bit version is now available.

MMF POS Introduces New Cash Drawer Platforms

MMF POS has unveiled new cash drawer platforms that provide cash drawer integration with POS peripheral placement and hidden cable management. VESA compatible mounts and two-line pole displays can be integrated, while hidden and protected cable management helps secure these assets and prevent tampering.

Designed for easy reach and close proximity to touch screen terminals or tablet enclosures, they help cashiers and operators complete transactions. There are two platform models to choose from — one for the Advantage cash drawer and another for the MediaPLUS cash drawer. Each includes a top cover plate kit with four different slot cover configurations for secure mounting and discrete cable management. The skidproof design does not require installation by drilling into the cash drawer.
