nuBridges Announces Reseller Partnership With Accellion

nuBridges, Inc., the secure eBusiness authority, announced today a reseller agreement with Accellion, Inc., the leading provider of appliance-based, on-demand secure file transfer solutions for enterprise users. Through this agreement nuBridges is expanding its Managed File Transfer (MFT) product portfolio to include Accellion's Secure File Transfer Appliance, which enables enterprise customers to quickly and easily send large files in a secure manner while enabling them to meet regulatory and legal security mandates.

"Many of our customers need to send 10 megabyte or larger files and prefer to give their end users the familiarity of an email experience," said Kim Addington, Chief Marketing Officer for nuBridges. "By partnering with Accellion, we can provide enterprises with the broadest set of file transfer options from a single vendor -- both scheduled Secure File Transfer and Ad Hoc file transfer using a variety of methods."

The prevalence of large files has spread from specialty uses such as video and audio files, engineering documents, medical diagnostics and lab results to the everyday business needs of sending large presentations or high-resolution graphics and photos. CD burning, email and non-secure flavors of FTP are no longer sufficient and do not meet regulatory and legal security mandates. Sending large files as email attachments can slow down email servers significantly, causing decreased performance for all users. Moreover, corporate mailboxes generally have a file size limitation of between 3 MB and 10 MB, which many PowerPoint presentations exceed.

nuBridges offers a managed file transfer software solution called nuBridges Exchange, which provides secure, centralized, multi-protocol information exchange for the enterprise. It handles automated "hands-free" transfers and also offers a Web portal for ad hoc transfers of any file size. However, many companies want more options for handling ad hoc transfers and with the addition of Accellion, nuBridges can now offer an appliance-based solution that integrates with email, making it very easy for IT and end users to assimilate.

"Accellion Appliances are installed in over 20 countries and handle terabytes of file transfers for more than one million corporate users," said Yorgen Edholm, CEO, for Accellion. "We are pleased to be partnering with nuBridges to provide its enterprise customers with a safe option to transfer large business files quickly."

To solve the problem of large file transfer, Accellion's Secure File Transfer Appliance enables business users to send files and folders of up to 20 gigabytes in size securely to recipients at any location or organization. The Accellion appliance also improves email server performance and reduces email storage requirements.

More about Ad Hoc File Transfer

Ad Hoc File Transfer enables users to send data securely and reliably, while increasing the delivery success of email with large attachments. Traditional forms of sending large files have low delivery success rates due to dropped connections and company file size limitations. In many cases, it is also important for the sender to know if the recipient received the file. Ad Hoc File Transfer provides delivery information back to the sender. Ad Hoc File Transfer also replaces FTP solutions, which while reliable, are not user friendly.
