New CompTIA Video Series Highlights IT Careers And Their Potential

IT companies are having trouble finding skilled workers for many positions, while large numbers of young people struggle to find well-paying jobs that lead to a solid career. To help point prospective IT professionals in the right direction, CompTIA is working with the Creating IT Futures Foundation to spread the message that information technology holds great potential for successful careers. CompTIA has created a new short video series to highlight this potential and to help address the growing skills gap challenge. The 17 video series highlights particular jobs in IT to help young people examine the options and rewards of a career in IT.

When announcing the video series, Cathy Alper, director of Member Communities at CompTIA, stated: “Young people often do not consider IT careers because they are not aware of the opportunities or have misconceptions about the industry. More than 850,000 IT jobs are available in America alone because there are not enough skilled people to fill them.”

The video series points out that many of these jobs do not require a four-year college degree or above-average math and science skills.

The 17 videos in the series, which range from 2 to 2.5 minutes in length, provide a glimpse of IT careers from the perspective of the people in them:
