Multi-Port POSLynxDUO Launched By Precidia

Payment appliance delivers secure integrated payments with new features such as wireless back-up and VPN tunneling.

Precidia Technologies Inc., a leading provider of integrated payment products and solutions, announced the launch of the POSLynxDUO payment appliance at this week's RetailNOW 2013 event in Las Vegas (Booth #204). The POSLynxDUO is a secure multi-port hardware platform for Precidia’s payment middleware. This addition to the POSLynx Series of appliances offers new features, such as automatic wireless back-up and secure VPN tunnel capability. The POSLynxDUO is the best choice for merchants with multiple lanes or POS peripherals.

Like all POSLynx series devices, the POSLynxDUO is the core of Precidia’s integrated payment solution. Taking transactions from a range of POS devices and applications (cash registers, customer-facing devices and POS systems), the appliance acts as a fortress for sensitive cardholder data. The POSLynxDUO secures this data with SSL encryption, firewalling and PCI PA-DSS validated security. The POSLynxDUO sends credit, debit, gift and loyalty transactions to the appropriate processor for approval. The POSLynxDUO is EMV-ready for future requirements.

The POSLynxDUO introduces new features and capabilities to the POSLynx Series. It is the first POSLynx appliance to offer automatic wireless (2G-4G) back-up, using the device’s USB interface, along with a modem stick and a low-cost data plan. If desired, dial back-up can be set up via the USB port, with an inexpensive adapter. The POSLynxDUO also offers SSL encrypted VPN tunneling. Ideal for convenience/petroleum operators, this provides a secure, low cost method of sharing inventory and transaction data with head office.
