MSPAlliance Announces Managed Services Accreditation Program, SAS 70 Audits
The International Association of Managed Service Providers (MSPAlliance - www.mspalliance.com) has announced the availability of a new audit program for its members. The Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70), is a standard for IT service provider audits, adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. SAS 70 audits will be made available along with the Managed Services Accreditation Program (MSAP) exam. By combining the MSAP and SAS 70, IT solution providers can achieve both accreditation and SAS 70 validation at significant cost savings.
“The Managed Services Accreditation Program has taken a very important step towards greater legitimacy and acceptance as the business standard for the managed IT services industry,” said Charles Weaver, president of MSPAlliance. “SAS 70, already a very well respected standard amongst the accounting profession, will lend some of that credibility to the MSAP.”
Companies who are interested in taking the Managed Services Accreditation Program exam can now take the SAS 70 Type I and Type II audits. The SAS 70 audits will be performed by SAS70 Service.
