Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy talks to Sanjay Sakhrani, senior VP of Keefe, Bruyette and Woods Equity Research, in this Executive-To-Executive interview conducted at the Money2020 conference, held Oct. 6-10, 2013 at the Aria in Las Vegas.

In this interview, Sakhrani says merchants are focusing on getting consumers engaged at the point of sale and this is driving changes in payment technology. “Merchants increasingly want to provide some type of loyalty to consumers, and they believe that mobile is a transformational way to get to the customer at the point of sale. They think loyalty will be enabled by mobile, and mobile is a game changer at the point of sale.” He adds that transitioning to new payment technologies will be a long process, first requiring time to develop technology and then time for consumers to adopt it.
