Microsoft Teams With Ingram Micro Canada To Offer Service Provider License Agreement To Canadian Partner Channel

Ingram Micro Inc. and Microsoft recently announced the immediate availability of Microsoft's Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA), a comprehensive, usage-based licensing program designed specifically for channel partners.

Exclusive to Ingram Micro Canada, Microsoft's usage-based, software-as-a-service offering enables channel partners (including solution providers, managed service providers (MSPs), ISPs, ASPs, VARs, system integrators, independent software vendors and others) to license a wide range of Microsoft products and platforms through Ingram Micro on a monthly basis through a dedicated or shared hosting environment. The Microsoft SPLA also provides channel partners with increased services flexibility and profit potential, allowing them to cost-effectively meet the needs of businesses of all sizes while establishing recurring monthly revenue streams.

"Usage-based, software-as-a-service models are commanding the industry's attention and becoming a serious growth catalyst for software sales and new business opportunities in the IT channel," says Mike Gazdic, vice president of vendor management at Ingram Micro Canada. "With Microsoft's SPLA licensing program we're making it easier for our partners to successfully sell and service Microsoft products and platforms without borrowing against their working capital or taking on unnecessary infrastructure costs. It's a great way to expand our Microsoft portfolio and enable our partners to grow their software business with Microsoft and increase their operating efficiencies and profit potential."

"Microsoft is proud to work with Ingram Micro to showcase the huge opportunities the SPLA licensing program can offer the Canadian channel community," says Lora Gernon, Director of Partner Group, Microsoft Canada Co. "This flexible and cost-effective offering is designed to provide channel technology partners with the opportunity to increase profitability and remain competitive by taking advantage of the software-as-a-service delivery model. This announcement is yet another step toward providing the industry with the tools and resources needed to help thrive in the Canadian partner ecosystem."

Microsoft's SPLA usage-based licensing program is available now to all qualified Ingram Micro Canada partners. The program boasts zero start-up costs and requires no minimum, up-front purchase. To become SPLA authorized, Ingram Micro partners must be Microsoft certified and join the SPLA program.
