n RoHS Compliance: In an effort to meet the compliance standards required in the European Union and California, Label Accessories product line is now RoHS Compliant (Restriction on Hazardous Substances). Label Accessories products no longer contain lead, mercury, zinc, cadmium, or other metals toxic to the environment
n CEC Energy Star Compliant: The power supply, which comes standard with every Label Accessories product, is CEC Energy Star Compliant — one of the most stringent regulations aimed at reducing energy waste and consumption.
n World Wide Safety Approvals And Universal Power Supply: The power supply for Label Accessories rewinders/ unwinders is auto-switching and has World Wide Safety Approvals, which makes it easy to sell anywhere.
n Warranty: New for 2008. The warranty on all Label Accessories Inc. products now covers parts and labor for three years.
n Service: Label Accessories has recently reached an agreement with ComputerPlus, a 3rd party service centre located in Greer, South Carolina to offer service for rewinders in the United States.
The Label Accessories Story
In 1994, a Canadian automatic identification reseller who distributed multiple thermal/thermal transfer printer lines decided to add a label rewinder to its product line. There were some specific requirements that needed to be met: it should be able to operate independently with any printer, it should be easy to use, and it should be very reliable. Despite an intensive search and testing of various options, no one product could be found to satisfy all three requirements.
It was at that point that necessity bred invention. In 1996, a new company, Label Accessories Inc., was formed and production of the first RW-01 label rewinder began. As proof of their reliability, some of these units are still in use today.
Although the original RW-01 satisfied all requirements as a generic workhorse rewinder that was easy to use, Label Accessories did not sit on their laurels. In the decade plus since then, the product line has expanded to include a smaller version of the original — the GLR-50, an improved larger rewinder — the GLR-100, a powered unwinder — the GLU-100, and a desktop rewind station — the DRS-2000. There are now Label Accessories rewinders in use all over the world — from Norway to India.
Over the years, constant improvements have been made to enhance the reliability and serviceability of the product line. All of Label Accessories products are now solderless, RoHS and CEC compliant.
