KODAK i660 Scanner Wins Best Of Show Award At FOSE

In a continuing demonstration of its innovation and leadership in document scanning, Eastman Kodak Company announced that its KODAK i660 Scanner received a Government Computer News Best of FOSE Award. The awards program honors the most innovative and well-designed new products used in government IT.

With a scanning speed of 120 pages per minute, the i660 is the fastest of the three members of the KODAK i600 Series of mid-range production scanners. Its speed – which remains steady in any mode, including color – was one of the key features singled out by judges.

Additionally, the judges were impressed with the i660's ability to handle a variety of paper types and sizes, its "surprisingly small" desktop design, and its lifetime duty-cycle rating of 75 million scans.

"The public sector has been an early adopter of the operational advantages of converting paper documents into digital files, and Kodak is committed to helping IT professionals in government continue to capitalize on the benefits of this digital innovation," said Roger Markham, marketing manager, Capture Products, Kodak. "Kodak is proud to be recognized for providing products that are both innovative and innovatively used by governmental agencies."

Award winners were chosen by a panel of editors from two publications, Government Computer News and Washington Technology. Before making their selection, the editors examined hundreds of products displayed at FOSE 2005, the most comprehensive technology event serving the government marketplace held recently in Washington, D.C.

"This year's crop of winners showed not just some remarkable innovation but also a keen sense of the kinds of problems customers are trying to solve," said Tom Temin, editor in chief of Government Computer News.
