KODAK i250 And i260 Scanners Now Boast Improved Image Quality Features

Kodak has added Perfect Page Scanning with iThresholding, a feature that captures and optimizes images at full processing speed, to its KODAK i250 and i260 Scanners. This enhanced image quality feature reduces pre-sorting, rescans, and post-image processing to improve overall operator productivity. Edges are sharp, images are deskewed and borders removed without loss of information. And, in many cases, because images are cleaner, file sizes are smaller.

"We are pleased to integrate Perfect Page Scanning with iThresholding into the i250 and i260 Scanners. This enhancement reflects Kodak's commitment to continuous improvement of our products and services," said Erwin Schwarzl, vice president of Kodak's document imaging business. "The i200 Series offers unique features and accessories typically found in higher speed production scanners, which all maximize throughput and return on investment for our customers."

The flagship of the i200 Series, the KODAK i280 Scanner, is a duplex, modular desktop scanner delivering color, bitonal, and grayscale images at full speed of 62 ppm or 124 ipm and includes Perfect Page Scanning with iThresholding. The i280 scanner has two unique features: long document mode for documents up to 20 feet long and special document mode for uniquely shaped exception documents.

All KODAK i200 Series Scanners feature SurePath paper handling, a unique, dockable flatbed accessory, simultaneous output in bitonal and color or bitonal and grayscale, breakthrough image-processing technologies and IEEE-1394 (FireWire). In 2004, the i200 Series Scanners received a Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. The i260 Scanner was the recipient of the Transform magazine's Readers Choice Award in 2003.

Perfect Page Scanning with iThresholding is available immediately in all i200 Series Scanners currently shipping from manufacturing, with no change in the price of the scanners. Owners of i250 and i260 Scanners may download the firmware for free by going to www.kodak.com/go/disupport and clicking on drivers. List prices for the i200 Series models are between $4,600 and $6200 for the i250 and i260 scanners, while the i280 Scanner lists at $9,950.
