Intransa Names Global Market Leader, Axis Communications, As One Of First To Achieve Its SELECT ELITE Top IP Camera Certification

Network Video Products Leader becomes VideoAppliance Select Elite Certified

Intransa, the VideoAppliance company, recently announced that Axis Communications has achieved Intransa's highest level of certification for camera and encoder products. Axis is one of the very first camera vendors to be Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT ELITE Partner Certified for network cameras and related technologies, including AXIS Camera Station video management software.

"As the surveillance industry continues its ongoing shift from analog to IP-based technologies, it becomes increasingly important for joint innovators to work closely together to provide open-based platforms that lead to robust network video solutions," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications Inc. "We're honored to achieve this certification and will continue to work with our partners to educate the market on the significant benefits offered by network surveillance."

As an IT company and the global leader in network video products, Axis Communications offers IP video solutions for professional installations. The company is driving the ongoing technology shift from analog to digital network video with cameras and encoders designed for improved image quality, ease-of-installation, and lower total cost of ownership. Axis has the broadest product portfolio in the industry - from entry-level fixed network cameras to high-end HDTV pan/tilt/zoom dome network cameras - and its products are used in a variety of installations around the globe.

"We're pleased that Axis Communications has become one of the first technology partners to achieve Intransa VideoAppliance SELECT ELITE Partner Certification for camera products. They're also one of a small number of partners to be SELECT Partner Certified for video management systems," said Jeff Whitney, vice president, marketing, Intransa. "Axis has been an important technology partner to our customers from the start, and we see customer preference accelerating with the continued adoption of IP technology in physical security and industrial video - two of Intransa's core markets."

Widely deployed by customers in physical security, industrial video and related markets since its introduction in mid-2009, Intransa's VideoAppliance was recently recognized as the Best in Video Storage and Distribution by the Security Industry Association at ISC West 2010, which is the latest in a string of similar awards.

Each Intransa installer-ready appliance shrinks the complexity and cost of integrating commodity servers, storage and other hardware for demanding physical security needs. While eliminating two, three, four or more commodity server and storage systems with a single, physical security optimized device, Intransa's VideoAppliance includes integration with the customer's choice of software, including Bosch products.

Intransa executives will be on hand in booth 3497, October 12-14, 2010 at ASIS International in Dallas and in booth 817, October 20-21, 2010 at Security Canada Central in Toronto. The Open Options DNA Fusion software will be on display in the booth on an Intransa VideoAppliance. To schedule an advance appointment at either event, please email Peter.Dumont@intransa.com.
