Multichannel Software Stimulates Growth

Used with permission from Integrated Solutions for Retailers magazine

Operating and sustaining a multichannel business is complicated, if not impossible, without a proficient platform and software solution in place. Journey Education Marketing (JourneyEd) knows this to be true, as its multichannel B2C and B2B operations are growing rapidly. JourneyEd is an online, software reseller, which caters to students, faculty, and learning institutions offering discounts to those who qualify. The company is headquartered in Dallas and has been in existence since 1990. Mike Fischler is president and CEO and oversees JourneyEd's operations in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

The reseller has created a working hybrid model with its college bookstore partners. "JourneyEd participates in brick-and-mortar college bookstore marketing planograms and all the traditional in-store marketing tactics that one would expect to see," states Fischler. But since JourneyEd sells its products online, the call to action is not to ring merchandise through the register. In this instance, students are directed to the reseller's online store, creating a multichannel environment. JourneyEd gift cards are the exception to the rule; they are available in participating college bookstores, and they are processed via a store's cash register.
