Immersive Advertising Drives Brand Visibility

The global digital signage market size was estimated at $16 billion in 2016 and is anticipated to reach $31 billion by 2025. This growth is due to the increasing demand for the digital promotion of products and services to attract the attention of the target audience in an effective manner. Digital signage offers the necessary quality information to a large number of viewers by utilizing large display screens across the location with a concentrated target audience. With digitized display technology, information is provided in a digitized format that includes motion and pictures in order to attract customers with more impact as compared to the traditional modes of reaching out to customers.

The smartphone-enabled omnichannel retail experience and a growing awareness of the drawbacks of short-lived print marketing is instigating digital advertisement adoption.

The retail pharmacy sector shows increasing interest in adopting 3D digital signage. Rite-Aid, for example, placed close to 700 Provision Holding Inc.’s 3D holography kiosks in its stores nationwide. Provision’s 3D holographic media displays include the optics, software, and hardware electronics. At the heart of media displays is the custom configurable DS-061 embedded computing system from Advantech. The DS-061 works with Provision’s software and optics to drive the overall system. 

“The Advantech DS-061 embedded computing system is mounted within Provision’s kiosk and it is helping to drive the 3D holographic image,” says Curt Thornton, CEO of Provision. “The kiosk displays a cool image that draws customers inside the stores over to the kiosk. In turn, customers print coupons and use their retail loyalty card. If the customer purchases one more item after visiting the kiosk and printing a coupon, then we have done our job.”
