ID TECH Launches New iSmart Mobile 'Smart Card' Reader For Apple iOS Devices
ID TECH, a leading manufacturer of automated data entry, mobile payment, point of sale, and secure payment devices, has launched the iSmart mobile smart card reader for Apple iOS devices.
The ID TECH iSmart is an EMV level 1 certified smart card reader that allows merchants to make safe and secure transactions on their iOS mobile devices. The iSmart works with processor type (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, JCB) integrated chip cards (ICC's), conforming to ISO 7816 standards. The iSmart communicates with ICC's through a low-force landing connector to ensure reliable connections, and features a card seated switch to activate the smart card when it is fully inserted.
The iSmart uses the 30-pin connector to attach directly to the Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, enabling these mobile devices to accept smart card transactions. ID TECH also offers an optional ‘clip' that provides extra stability when connecting the reader to the Apple iPad or iPad 2. The iSmart has a small, durable form factor that was designed for mobility and ease of use.
The iSmart is the newest product to join ID TECH's mobile reader product line. ID TECH's offering of mobile readers includes both MagStripe and smart card readers for a wide variety of mobile phones and tablets, including Apple, Android, and Blackberry devices.
