Hitachi Electronics Services Brings Managed Services To Japan With Level Platforms

LPI Level Platforms Inc., a global leader in remote monitoring and management (RMM) software for solution and managed service providers (MSPs), has teamed with Tokyo-based Hitachi Electronics Services Co., Ltd. (HES) to deliver IT Simple Manager, a comprehensive managed services cloud platform, to Japanese IT services providers, opening the door to new levels of IT service delivery efficiency and revenue growth.

The partnership follows an extensive selection and business planning process by HES, including the choice of Level Platforms for its flexibility, security, scalability, proven cloud implementation and for its advanced architecture, which provides the foundation for services delivered by thousands of IT service providers around the world.

Based on Level Platforms' award-winning Managed Workplace 2011, HES's IT Simple Manager service targets the breadth of the Japanese channel with a subscription-based cloud platform for the comprehensive management of small and mid-sized end customer IT environments. Through IT Simple Manager, IT services providers are able to remotely monitor the health of their entire end-customer IT environments, including all associated hardware, software, and to address issues, such as patch management or equipment failures, proactively on a 24/7 basis. By performing these tasks remotely, MSPs dramatically reduce the amount of expensive on-site service calls required, meaning staff time can be increasingly dedicated to service delivery while more clients can be serviced without adding staff. Managed Workplace is offered in a fully localized Japanese version, simplifying HES's goal of delivering Japanese language software and support to its clients.

Managed Workplace supports IT Simple Manager by providing a single multi-tenant web-based dashboard for the remote management of all IT management tasks. The comprehensive hybrid agentless application includes real time asset discovery and management, remote policy-based monitoring of the entire IT environment, remote management of key applications including preferred backup and antivirus applications, comprehensive remediation tools featuring fast remote control to any device or application, full featured IT Automation of routine tasks, and rich customized reporting. Highly configurable roles and permissions allow extensive sharing of management tasks between the IT service provider and local in house IT staff to support virtually any IT support scenario.

Japanese IT service providers adopting IT Simple Manager are able to deliver much faster proactive customer support, achieve order-of-magnitude reduction of service delivery costs, identify new opportunities for the improvement of end customer IT, and rapidly evolve their businesses from the traditional cost-plus professional services business model to managed services with a reliable, recurring revenue stream.

"Recognizing the rapid growth of managed services in the United States, we invested time studying the opportunities for IT services providers in Japan and designed our service offering to address these opportunities," said Yoshiyuki Yamamoto, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer, HES. "The power, reliability and flexibility of Managed Workplace 2011 has helped ensure we provide Japanese IT service organizations with the best managed services solution possible. We know there is a significant managed services opportunity in Japan and our partnership with Level Platforms positions HES to meet that demand."

"The Japanese small and mid-sized IT market has all of the characteristics to support the rapid adoption of remote monitoring and management technology," said Peter Sandiford, CEO, Level Platforms. "We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with HES, a well-respected IT organization throughout Japan and the world. The opportunity to help them deliver this transformational IT management service platform is both very exciting and a great honor."
