All-in-one recording solution for IP cameras combines the server, PoE switch, storage and software into an easy to install and use appliance.

Carrollton, TX (PRWEB) - GVI announces the introduction of the latest member of the autoIP™ family, the razberi™, a network video recorder (NVR), that combines a server, PoE switch, storage, and autoIP™ video management software into one easy to use and install appliance.

The PoE switch that is integrated into the network video recorder makes the razberi™ unique compared to any other NVR out there today. With automatic camera discovery, IP address discovery, and automatic recording, the razberi™ has a plug & play functionality that makes it less complex and easier to install an IP based system. "Our goal has been to make an IP based system that requires no knowledge of networking to do a normal install," says Tom Galvin, VP of Product Management for GVI. "We spent a lot of development time to ensure that an installer can just plug in a camera and the system does the rest."

The mass mid-market of the security industry has been slow to adopt IP video due to the additional required network knowledge and training. The razberi™ will go a long way to solving this issue by assisting traditional analog CCTV integrators with the move into the megapixel world and make it as simple as setting up a DVR. "razberi™ dramatically simplifies and reduces the costs of IP video deployment. In addition to reducing the requirement for network knowledge, razberi™ eliminates the complexity associated with the selection and maintenance of general purpose PCs, operating systems, licensing, network devices, and camera power supplies," says Brian Leland, VP of North American Sales for GVI. "Just buy one box, plug it in, and you're done."

In addition, razberi™ is ONVIF compliant, an industry standard protocol that allows for mixing cameras from manufacturers who adhere to the standard. This means that its automation features work with the hundreds of ONVIF cameras currently available, and without the complexity of making sure that the correct camera driver is available and installed.

GVI officially released the razberi™ to compliment their family of IP video surveillance products at ASIS 2010 in Dallas, Texas, October 12-14, 2010 to record breaking crowds. "We were really excited with the reaction of the many attendees. They saw the advantages right away," says Leland. "Looks like Razberi has hit a 'sweet' spot!"
