Global DataCenter Management (GDCM) Signs Storm Technologies As A Strategic Reseller Partner
Data center software specialist, Global DataCenter Management (GDCM), has signed a UK reseller agreement with Storm Technologies - a specialist computer reseller. The agreement, which is immediately effective, enables Storm Technologies to sell GDCM's flagship product, nlyte.
nlyte is the only data center management tool to provide an intelligent and automated view of all physical and virtual assets and workgroups within the datacenter, using a web-based graphical user interface. Designed to help data center managers make the most of their IT investments while minimising complexity and costs, it allows companies to model and manage their hardware, capacity, power, cooling, networking and space, reduce redundancy, and pro-actively forecast and plan the deployment of their assets.
nlyte dramatically increases data center efficiency. It's the only tool on the market that can give an accurate view of a company's assets – from their hardware to their power needs – and model how they can be used more efficiently.
While businesses are focused on keeping their business services and applications running at peak efficiency, they also under enormous pressure to reduce their carbon footprint. Given that data centers consume just under two per cent of the world's available energy – which equates to 480,000,000 metric tons of CO2 each year, any increase in efficiency will have a dramatic effect on power requirements, and therefore the production of CO2.
GDCM clients commonly achieve a reduction of up to 16 per cent in their data center power requirements, which if repeated across the world would equate to a reduction of up to 96,000,000 metric tons of Carbon Dioxide production per year – a significant reduction.
John Brooker, Managing Director, Storm Technologies commented: "By partnering with GDCM, we're able to provide real efficiency gains to our customers. We chose nlyte, above any other tool on the market, because of it's proven ability to reduce costs within the data center as well as reducing power and cooling, enabling our customers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
"We are pleased to partner with Storm Technologies" added John Moreton, Chairman and Founder of GDCM. "nyte will provide a full solution set for the needs of its customer and prospect base. Its dynamic, knowledgeable and highly professional approach fits well with our corporate standards, and we are sure that together we can address the needs of customers throughout the UK."
