Fusion 2011: A Cure For Data Capture Paralysis

Despite its hype, automated data capture remains an underused technology in the accounts payable (AP) space.

A new survey sponsored by Open Text and conducted by International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP) and The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI) shows a wide disparity between the percentage of organizations that use document imaging in invoice processing and those that use automated data capture. What's more, automated data capture users are processing a relatively low percentage of their invoices using the technology. And the survey found that a high number of organizations aren't even considering the technology.
