Used-Truck Volume Down For May In Anticipated Summer Slump

Fleet Owner said that Class 8 used-truck volume fell in May by 12 percent below April. The anticipated slump is common in the summer months and that now both fleets and dealers are discussing fleet expansions.

Class 8 Truck Orders Regain Stability In June

Conversely, Today’s Trucking reports that Class 8 truck orders were stable through the month of June according to freight forecasters at ACT Research. The 26,600 units in June marked an improvement of two percent from May and 41 percent compared to year-ago June.

Apps And Software Assist Contractors In The Field

Contractor Magazine reports on the latest apps and software developments for contractors in the field. The report includes Coolfront, a flat rate pricing field app; ServiceMax, which helps contractors perfect field service delivery; Square Invoices; FieldOne Sky Mobile; Field ID, an app to achieve excellence in construction safety management.

Equipment And Software Investment Forecast To Grow 2.6 Percent

Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation released the Q3 update to the 2014 Equipment Leasing & Finance U.S. Economic Outlook. The report forecasts investment in equipment and software to grow 2.6 percent in 2014, which is revised from the Q2 update forecast of 4.2 percent growth issued in April.

Fleets Aim To Add Vehicles As Industry Gears Up For Expansion

Fleet Owner reports on a new biannual survey that captures middle-market executives’ take on fleet issues. Twenty-seven percent of middle-market firms expect to increase the size of their fleet in the next 12 months. This is in response to the perception of a probable expansion in the coming year.
