Explore SaaS Workforce Management Options
Integration Story: Galaxy Technologies
According to a 2005 AMR Research study of 500 respondents representing companies of all sizes, more than 78% said they are currently using or considering a SaaS (software as a service) product. Like it or not, SaaS applications have pushed their way into the mainstream, and if you haven't already done so, you need to seriously begin determining how to best make SaaS part of your business model.
One workforce management software developer, Galaxy Technologies, Inc., realized early the impact SaaS would have on today's business world. Nearly four years ago, the company developed a SaaS version of its TimeStar Enterprise product. TimeStar Enterprise is time and attendance, automation, and labor management software designed to allow employees throughout an enterprise to enter, collect, and analyze labor data (e.g. hours worked, absentee requests, scheduling, etc.).
"TimeStar Enterprise was initially distributed as a licensed SQL software product," says Carlos Gonzalez, director of sales and marketing for Galaxy Technologies. "However, we realized that many SMBs didn't want to invest in a SQL server and SQL licensing. In response, we began to host the product for a few smaller clients to make it more affordable for them. As demand for this solution grew, we launched a full-blown, Web-native, SaaS version of the software that customers can implement for as little as $3 per employee per month."
