Epson Expands Connectivity For Its POS Printers

New Ethernet Interface Enables Customers to add Connectivity Options Without Having to Replace their Printers

Recently at RSPA RetailNOW, Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, announced the new Epson UB-E04 Ethernet Interface, which provides expanded connectivity for Epson POS printers. Besides legacy Ethernet, the new interface enables printing from tablets, mobile devices and cloud-based POS applications. Replacing the UB-EO3 Ethernet Interface card, the UB-EO4 will be available through Epson authorized channel partners. Epson will be demonstrating the new solution at RSPA RetailNOW, July 31- August 3 at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, in Grapevine, TX, Epson booth 801.

The UB-E04 Ethernet Interface incorporates Epson’s ePOS Print Service technology, which enables customers to print from web or cloud-based POS applications as well as directly from tablets and mobile devices. It also includes a built-in USB port to provide wireless connectivity with the use of an Epson wireless adapter (sold separately). Designed to increase flexibility and convenience, it provides a cost-effective solution to establish communications between host systems and POS printers.

“Users can easily upgrade to the new Ethernet interface to benefit from the enhanced connectivity,” said Gregg Brunnick, director of product management & technical services, Business Systems Division, Epson America. “Our UB-E04 is a versatile Ethernet module that can be configured to print from mobile and cloud based POS applications and has the ability to add wireless connectivity with the use of an Epson wireless dongle. These value added features will ‘future proof’ the product for customers looking to add flexible connectivity options.”
