Eaton's "Ask The Experts" Portal Gives IT Pros Powerful Toolkit

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced an enhanced online portal to give information technology (IT) professionals and resellers access to valuable industry content. The toolkit is available at www.SwitchOn.Eaton.com and is a continuation of Eaton’s “Things Have Changed” campaign, an initiative that underscores the company’s dedication to the IT community and expertise in IT and data center solutions while demonstrating Eaton is a company that ‘gets IT.’

As part of these online enhancements, IT professionals are invited to submit industry questions through the “Ask The Experts” form in order to receive responses directly from some of Eaton’s top thought leaders. Questions range from specific inquires about replacing uninterruptible power system (UPS) batteries and power management software recommendations, to general questions about power distribution, airflow management and rack enclosures.

“Eaton’s ‘Ask The Experts’ portal gives IT professionals, especially those in small-to-medium size businesses, direct access to powerful information resources and a community of knowledgeable product managers and industry experts,” said Hervé Tardy, vice president and general manager, Eaton Distributed Power Quality Business Unit. “It’s this continued engagement and ongoing evolution of our programs that speak volumes about Eaton’s dedication to the IT community and channel.”

Eaton is also hosting a Geek Cruise Getaway Sweepstakes, “Geeks @Sea,” which is an opportunity for IT professionals and Eaton PowerAdvantage® partners to win a trip to Genoa, Italy for a 16-day/15-night Eastern Mediterranean cruise, including a pre-cruise tour of CERN and the Large Hadron Collider, valued at $15,000. All IT professionals and PowerAdvantage partners are invited to enter the sweepstakes through April 15, 2012, at www.SwitchOn.Eaton.com. PowerAdvantage partners must nominate at least one of their IT professional customers in order to be eligible to win. “Geeks @Sea” will set sail in October 2012 to cruise the coasts of Italy, Greece, Israel and Turkey.

In addition to background information on power protection basics, thought leadership white paper content, and event and webcast schedules, visitors will notice that Eaton’s SwitchOn resource portal includes an interesting cast of characters—the IT desk toys. The “Caption Creator” places these desk toy characters in various scenarios and invites IT pros to submit clever captions on their behalf. Visitors can view the most popular captions in the gallery and place their vote for favorite captions.
