Upgrade Document Scanning Equipment To Increase Efficiency
By Business Solutions magazine
Conversion Technologies International, Inc. (CTI) is a VAR and service bureau based in Mount Laurel, NJ, that has 70 employees, five facilities, and annual sales of $6 million. The company specializes in capture solutions (optimizing the delivery of business information into an organization's IT system by transforming paper and electronic forms into stored data), legacy/migration services solutions, and high-speed scanners that can cost more than $100,000.
One of CTI's clients is Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company, which specializes in employee-benefits solutions such as disability income and group-term life insurance. In business since 1906, the company markets its products through independent brokers and agents to employers of all sizes.
For an insurance company that handles thousands of customer policies every year, effectively managing mountains of paper documents is vitally important. An integral part of document management for Reliance Standard is scanning forms to store customer and business data in the company's data repository. Because the company's outdated scanners were wasting time and money, Reliance Standard turned to CTI for a new scanning solution.
"CTI has worked closely with Reliance Standard for many years, so our existing relationship helped us get the business when they wanted to update and upgrade their scanners," says Larry C. Skinner, CTI VP of sales and marketing. "Our first experience with the customer was in 1998 through the bid process for their previous scanners. After doing a good job for them on scanning projects and document imaging equipment purchases and support, we became the customer's preferred vendor for these products and services."
